The Shala river is located in the middle of the Koman lake, it can be a destination for a wonderful day in company swimming in its crystal clear waters or a small stop along the navigation on the Koman lake to reach the Valbona national park.
In addition to beautiful nature, there are also some Guesthouses in Shala where you can spend pleasant nights and leave with our transport service at the end of your stay, towards Koman

Explore one of the most stunning natural destinations in Northern Albania — the Shala River, known for its crystal-clear waters and untouched beauty.
The journey begins with a boat ride from Koman to Shala River. Upon arrival, you can swim in the refreshing waters, relax by the riverbanks, or enjoy the adrenaline of the Zip-Line. There are also bar and restaurant services available in the area for your comfort.
After a few hours in this natural paradise, the boat returns either to Koman or to Fierze, depending on your travel plan.
We offer daily boat transfers from Koman to Shala and back, or from Shala to Fierze for those continuing their journey to Valbona. You can easily book your preferred route through our booking form, and add the minibus transfer to Valbona if needed.
We took the 3 day Alps tour which I can fully recommend as it provides for all the highlights of the region and combines bus, ship, hiking and extra activities very well. The accomodation in Valbona was basic but okay, the one in Teth I consider a 3 star hotel. Food was more than enough and Im known for eating a lot. The big hike on the 2nd day is the highlight. I think it is well managable even if you are not superfit (if so, consider hiking poles). We had members in our group with recently operated knees and they completed the hike too. The group will wait every now and then and we had an extra guide at the end who made sure nobody gets lost. And super convenient: for the needy an extra guide with a horse accompanied out group of 22 people which carried the luggage. A minus goes to the pre-communication (we didn’t book directly with North Albania Alps but with Berisha tough): we had the impression a small bus or guide will meet us at the meeting point but there was nobody. We were supposed to ask on the other side of the main street of Shkoder who might take us. No signs of our tour operator just a long row of half a dozen long travel coaches who just looked like something else. Till we found out it was too late but luckily we arranged a solution in another bus. Nevertheless a very cool trip and also the group with our guide Luiza were really cool. Thank you!
Ask for Luiza, you won't regret it. Despite this area experiencing an early season heatwave, every bit of this adventure was amazing. These towns are rural and historic. If you have done through-hike trips in the US, this would be comparable to parts of the Sierra Nevada or maybe the southern Rockies. The paths are rocky and often loose gravel and steep. The swimming holes are glacier melt and very cold (
Had an amazing hiking tour with our guide, Gjin! It was just me, my girlfriend, and him, which made the whole experience feel super personal and relaxed. We're both beginners, but Gjin was really patient and made us feel comfortable the whole way. He also shared a lot of cool history about the old buildings we passed, which made the hike even more interesting. The waterfall and the Blue Eye were absolutely stunning, definitely the highlight of the trip. The whole hike was beginner-friendly and honestly just a great time. Would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and easygoing adventure!
We were in Albanian paradise ✨ The trip went really smoothly and everything was perfect! Gijn was a wonderful guide and the best company to spend the whole day with. He was super helpful and really took care of us. The views and nature were absolutely stunning, and the trip was perfectly planned. I would recommend Gijn and this tour to all my friends! ❤️
I did the 3-Day Theth and Valbonë Hiking Tour and it was absolutely AMAZING ! Thanks to the teams ^^ Davide and his team are incredible and always available to answer any questions. There are welcoming, friendly and adorable. Their smiles are very contagious haha. My guide, Luiza is a real sunshine. Always smiling, so much energy, funny ...I spent 3wonderful days with her. She really loves nature and the mountains and always makes sure everything goes well and that you fully enjoy the moment. A 6 hours hike seemed to last 30 minutes cause i loved every moment so much. I was lucky enough to have Gjin as a guide for the last day in Theth and he's just as amazing as Luiza. Regarding food, they adapted to my vegan diet which was so great. I highly recommend it. Don't hesitate!
