We will pick you up from your hotel and begin the tour by driving to Sari Salltik. Enjoy a scenic drive on a panoramic mountain road to visit this sacred site, which holds significance in the Bektashi religion. Situated at 1176 meters above sea level, the cave shrine offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
After visiting Sari Salltik, we continue to the city of Kruja, where we begin our next visit with a guided walking tour inside the Kruja Castle. The castle houses the Skanderbeg Museum, dedicated to the legendary Albanian resistance against the Ottomans, led by the national hero Skanderbeg in the 15th century.
See a replica of Skanderbeg’s helmet and sword in the main hall, along with flags and coats of arms of the noble families who supported him. Your guide will provide interesting historical insights about this important period.
Afterwards, you have the opportunity to visit the Ethnographic Museum, housed in a beautifully preserved Ottoman-era house. This museum offers an authentic glimpse into the lifestyle, traditions, and crafts of the region from centuries past.
FREE TIME/LUNCH: After learning about the culture and history, enjoy 1 hour and 45 minutes of free time to explore the Old Bazaar, take photos, and enjoy lunch.
After visiting the bazaar, we will return to Tirana & Durres.
Afterwards, we will return to Tirana.
NOTE: While visiting the Sari Salltik Cave, it is possible (although rare) to encounter local religious rituals involving animal sacrifices; if this is a concern, please inform your tour guide in advance.
We recently visited Albania and our experience with Albanian Trip was AWESOME. They helped us plan a customized trip that focused on less frequently visited locations as well as some traditional highlights such as Lake Komani and the River Shala in the north, and Berat and Apolonia in the south. Albanian Trip spent the time and effort prior to our travel to understand our interests and tastes and then developed an excellent itinerary perfect for us, all at a reasonable cost. All aspects of the trip, from our guide/driver, accommodations, restaurant meals customized to our culinary interests, boat trips and farm stays were well organized. Our guide had the authority and flexibility to adjust to conditions and our interests in real time to make the trip very personal for us. Accommodations ranged from welcoming guesthouses and bed and breakfasts to luxurious boutique hotels in the cities, each offering a unique taste of the very welcoming Albanian hospitality. Thank you Albanian Trip for making our experience so special. Elton, Vilma and their staff were wonderful to work with. I definitely recommend Albanian Trip to anyone interested in exploring Albania and the Balkans.
It's my first time in Europe, and getting to see Albania with Toni was truly a pleasure. He's knowledgable, passionate, and fun. He made me feel like a local even though I speak no Albanian, and made sure to give me the historical context for everything we saw and did. I can't recommend him enough. If I could give more stars I would! Thanks Toni for an unforgettable day!
We are just back from a two-week wonderful trip in Albania thanks to Albanian Trip agency and more precisely Vilma, who organized very professionally a customized itinerary through North and South of the country. It was great and we warmly recommend Albanian Trip!
Travelling with Albanian Trip was an excellent choice to visit this country. The program was perfectly organised and adopted to our wishes and preferences. Our guide Elton introduced us the unbelievable world of rich Albanian culture and special history, helped us to understand and made us love this country! The picturesque landscapes, authentic and delicious food, beautiful locations, which Albanian Trip chose for us; plenty of dramatic legends, interesting stories, fascinating excurses in the history and simply lovely company of our guide Elton made out of our trip a beautiful experience full of positive emotions and memories! I can warmly recommend to travel with Albanian Trip!
I used Albania Trip to arrange everything for my recent holiday in Albania. They helped me hire a car and book all the accommodation for quite a few destinations. Then I had more friends joining us at the last minute and I had to ask Albania trip to change our initial plan and asked them to hire a driver for us. Six of us including my family members and friends had a great time in Albania. Albania Trip picked up the right hotels and designed the perfect itinerary for us. I am so glad that I used Albania Trip which was also recommended by one of friends who went used Albania Trip for her family holiday last year. I highly recommend this travel agent and I will use them again for other destinations such as North Macedonia and Kosovo!
